The rise of the star

Samson Okotoko Onoriode, better known as Psalm1 (Big Psalm), is a multi-genre artist whose sound blends Hip-Hop, Afropop, Pop, Reggae, and Trap into a unique expression of life, faith, and rhythm. Born in Abuja and raised with Delta and Ondo roots, his musical journey began early when his parents gifted him drums as a child—unknowingly setting him on the path God destined for him.
A graduate of Computer Science from NOUN, Psalm1 draws heavily from his personal experiences, emotions, and memories, transforming them into soulful and energetic music. His inspirations range from Lil Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Burna Boy, Olamide, Wizkid, Adekunle Gold, to Kendrick Lamar, and his style reflects both the grit of global hip-hop and the vibrance of African sounds.
Beyond music, Psalm1’s mission is clear: to inspire the youth to put their trust in God, embrace hard work, and never underestimate the power of prayer. His calm presence, clear vision, and relentless drive fuel his goal of taking African music to the global stage—with the Grammy stage as a destination in sight.
